Language support for ESOL studentsThe Language Support pages provide on-line text extracts of selected Workbooks for use with web-based translation software.
Learning doesn't have to be hard work![]() The CDs that accompany our Workbooks contain a large number of short computer activities designed to help students to learn the memory work for each course. The trick is to do the activity a few hours after the work has been taught in class -- before it's been forgotten. A few minutes is all it takes to shift that knowledge from short-term to long-term memory. Each CD also contains a set of quizzes that parallel the computer activities. Used in class the next day, these quizzes reinforce brain pathways as well as providing a convenient way for teachers to monitor student progress. As students work through the set of activities for each topic, they will also be presented with longer tasks that review material from the last week or two. The computer activities and quizzes cover the basic facts, but students still need to complete the written theory tasks and practicals to fully master the work.

Active pdfsThe newest versions of the pdf files for our books include extra Comment and Markup Tools and form fields. These allow people using Adobe Reader to highlight text passages, type answers into write-on spaces, and even add hot links to additional resources (such as animations, powerpoints or web resources). Such Active pdfs are particularly useful for teachers who use a data projector in class. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
